| Final Result 01 |

These are the steps I took to get this result.

I duplicated the image of Buffy and Angelus. On the duplicated image (it should be on top of the original copy of Buffy/Angelus), I decided to lighten my image. For that I went the Menu Bar: Image > Adjustments > Curves. Once you've clicked on Curves, a window will pop up. Its the settings for Curves. You want to drag the line to your right to ligten your duplicated piece. The setting doesn't matter.

Then on the same duplicated layer you've ligthen, I went to the Menu Bar: Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. I put my angle at: 51 and my pixels at: 108.

After I motion blurred it, I decided to go to the Menu Bar: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. The setting doesn't matter.

I tend to do this and the next step in my walls very often. Next, I went to the Menu Bar: Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal the duplicated layer.

I went to the Layers panel and the layer on Hard Light. Now the original layer of Buffy and Angelus is peering through the dupilcated image. Pretty, eh?

Now time for texture paper! This one is scrapbook paper of wood. I got it from Joanne Fabrics. It's availabe in the Downloads Gallery. I put it on Hard Light on the Layers panel. Don't be alarmed if you can't see the image behind it. You can still play with this layer.

That is what I did here. I went to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. I forget the setting, it wasn't high. I thought the lines looked like rain- fitting for this scene.

I added more textured paper. I got this one from Joanne's too and its also available on this site. It has nice red cracked lines. I put it on Soft Light on the Layers panel.

Then I added paper that looks like water. I went to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. It was a high setting as I didn't want the the sparkles showing. I put it on Pin Light on the Layers panel. I liked the blue peering through the cracks.

But I don't like the cracked lines from the red paper on Buffy and Angelus' face. So I went to the Marquee Tool on the tool bar. You want the circle.

I put the feathered setting on 30 (and checked the anti-aliased box). Then I circled Buffy and Angelus' face. Then I went to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. I put the radius pixels on: 210.7.

Better eh? You can see their faces. But I don't like the pink color on the bottom. So I duplicated the red cracked paper and went to Image > Adjustments > Desaturate (it turns it into black and white). I put it on Soft Light on the Layers Panel.

Much better now. But I am still not happy with it. So I flatten the whole thing (confident that I am going in the right direction). Then I duplicated it again. I went to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Then I went to the Layers Panel and put the duplicated layer (background copy) on Soft Light.

Now the blue is starting to bother me. So I went to Gradient Map. The short cut key is on your Layers Panel. I've indicated the icon with the red arrow.

I selected the colors I wanted.

I put the gradient map on Hard Light in the Layers panel and loved the color result.

Now it's time to add text. I picked lines from the scene. The font is Century Gothic. I put it on Soft Light on the Layers panel.

I flatten my work (with the background copy & gradient). Then I lighten up the layer by by going to Image > Adjustments > Curves. And that's all she wrote. Hope this tutorial was clear for ya.
